Good Morning Green Smoothie

Lake Country Green Smoothie - Pear - Cucumber - Spinach - Lemon

I didn’t have some of my favourites on hand this morning, but I was really craving a smoothie. So I had to get a little creative with what was in the fridge, but I came up with this variation of a green smoothie. It was delicious! Spinach is a good energy and mood booster and you don’t even notice it other than the colour. If you haven’t tried greens in your smoothies yet it’s totally worth it. You can start off with just a little and add more as you get comfortable with it. I also add some plant-based protein powder, so that’s also an option if you prefer. Either way the pears, cucumber, and squeeze of lemon juice was a really nice and refreshing combination, perfect for this beautiful sunny fall day we’re having here in the Okanagan, BC. Since this was a random creation I don’t have a solid recipe, but here’s an outline of what I did and you can adjust according to your preferences:

Recipe:

Made approx. 3 large cups
  • 2 Medium Pears
  • 1/2 Medium Cucumber
  • Handful of Baby Spinach
  • Squeeze of Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 Scoop Vanilla Plant-based Protein Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Chia Seeds
  • 1 Tablespoon Hemp Hearts
  • 2 Teaspoons Bee Pollen
  • 1-2 cups Unsweetened Original Almond Milk
  • 1 cup Ice Cubes (optional)

Blend everything together until smooth, except for the ice cubes. Add more Almond Milk (or water) until you get to the consistency you like. If you prefer a colder smoothie add in the Ice Cubes and pulse until blended.
